I loved reading this informative book about branding. Smart branding, or as the author calls it - brain-ding, is what we are really looking for, as authors or small business owners. This is such an important aspect of our success, and so we must learn how to maximize our image and everything we do.This is quite a stuffy subject and I loved how the author broke it down in clear, manageable pieces that are easy to understand, follow, and apply. The author emphasizes the most important aspect of our relationship with our readers and clients: the emotional connection. Everything we do must convey the message of our brand, and must be in alignment with the emotional connection our readers and clients have with our brand.
I enjoyed the clear writing style, the organizing of the book, and the specific detail in which the author discusses this vast subject. I highly recommend this book for anyone who is interested in understanding smart branding - brain-ding - and maximizing their image and customer experience!

I read BRAIN-DING hoping to learn how I can brand my own small business endeavors. And the book delivered.
The author is well qualified, having worked with multiple brands. His examples are mostly from “big business” but they apply to everyone – public organizations, people, charities, and businesses of every size.
BRAIN-DING explains how to win loyal customers for life through effective branding. The key is in engaging your customers emotionally at every possible level. This includes internal “customers” (employees and other stakeholders) as well as external customers (who buy our service or product).
I could write a lot more… but if you want to learn about branding, the best thing you can do is read this book!
I found Francisco J. Serrano's book Brain-Ding The Strategy to be invaluable to my current business endeavors. This is a book for anyone with any business or in any profession. Branding is far more than marketing and all-important to the success and growth of any business. Francisco Serrano has presented the subject in a well written and easy to read manner. The book is full of information on how to get your business, or yourself, branded, taking you or your business to the next level.
"Your brand is not what you say it is, it is what others say it is." This pretty much sums it up for me. It doesn't matter what you say. It only matters what your customers, clients, readers or fans say. Branding is what is needed before marketing can be effective. If what you or your company stands for is clear and understood, then your marketing means something. I would say this is the book I need to get my businesses noticed, remembered and therefore successful.
If you are in business or are a professional, then get this book. It will guide you in the proper use of branding. Follow the author's guidelines and your brand will be a success. I recommend this book to everyone. I will definitely be using this strategy.
Mr. Serrano speaks with a confident voice of authority that is easy to understand. Clearly, he is well-schooled and knowledgeable in this arena.
I felt that I had a basic grasp of this huge and complex topic, but Serrano leaves no avenue unexplored in revealing how inter-connected all of the aspects are in making a name, a brand for oneself or one's company.
Whether an author hoping to grow a brand from a single book or a multi-leveled company, much can be learned from this book. Serrano takes the reader through a quick history lesson on how brands came to be through the natural evolution of how brands are created and perceived. I especially profited by a closer scrutiny of each of the graphics he puts forth to illustrate his valid points.
After reading this book, I feel better prepared to present any endeavor I undertake because of the deeper understanding I have garnered through his book. I am glad to have this as a reference as I go forth and will recommend it to others around me as they launch their own brands.
'Your brand is not what you say it is-it's what others say it is'. This sentence really resonated with me as it turns the branding philosophy on it's head! I have always come at branding from what I think it is-I have never stopped to see how my customers saw me. It has given me a lot to think about. 'Branding is a science, an art and a management discipline' Francisco Serrano has obviously nailed all these things and clearly has a lot of expertise in the branding industry. He provides information in an easy to read way, as well as using examples and imagery which made it much more relatable for me. I've gotta admit I've never delved too deep into branding because I just didn't understand it. Thank you Mr Serrano I think I finally do. Can't wait to put some of this awesome information into use!
Part of my daughter's college curriculum was branding. Francisco Serrano's book Brain-Ding The Strategy seemed like the perfect way for me to understand her world (and now Francisco's world) of branding and marketing. This book did not disappoint. First of all, I could not resist his smiling face that was front and center making me feel welcomed to his book. His impressive credentials more than qualify him to write this book. I found this book to be easy to read and understand, and it wasn't overly complex. I appreciated the examples he offered throughout the book as he talks about his Brain-Ding principles and methodologies. Francisco explains that the key to success is communication which can be done in several ways--internal, with customers, between competitors, associates, investors, and the list can go on. Most importantly, the author states that it is how and what you communicate, and to whom you communicate with that makes the difference. There is so much more information inside this book that I haven't mentioned. I highly recommend that you buy this book and learn!
